FREE SUMMER FUN FOR CHILDREN AT CHESHIRE’S ANDERTON BOAT LIFT THROUGHOUT AUGUST

Back by popular demand, the Anderton Boat Lift, near Northwich, will once again be providing free family fun every Tuesday and Thursday during August. Events include stories with Peppa Pig, Bob the Builder, Paw Patrol and Olaf as well as magic, games and clowns. In addition, every Tuesday throughout the day in the Lift View marquee, the Canal & River Trust Explorers will be holding various free activities such as how to make a duck hat. What’s more, there is no charge to enter the Anderton Boat Lift site, visit the hands-on exhibition or stroll round the site’s terraced grassy slopes. For further information go to canalrivertrust.org.uk/Anderton or call 01606 786 777.

A big bonus for any small visitors will be the Anderton Boat Lift’s new £50,000 play area which has been themed to reflect the appearance of the lift and its unique location. Visitors may wish to coincide their visits with paid-for boat trips up the lift or along the picturesque River Weaver (for which booking is advised*). No charge is made on the boats for any child under 5 years old. Alternatively, visitors may wish to use the tree-top coffee shop, selling freshly-made food or the shop which is well-stocked with interesting and imaginative gifts for all ages.
