Transfer of Orders to Public Space Protection Orders (PSPOs)

A public consultation on the proposed transfer of Orders for alcohol consumption and dog control is currently open and will close on 23 July 2017. Cheshire West and Chester Council currently have a low level of responses and want to raise awareness and encourage as many people as possible to have their say and take part in the consultation.

Full details can be found on the Cheshire West and Chester Council website: The survey can be completed online or by printing off the questionnaire and posting it back to the address provided on the webpage.

The review of the above Orders is taking place due to national legislative changes. The Council is carrying out a public consultation to determine the views of the general public and other interested bodies on the existing Orders, with a view to renewing them on a like for like basis. This will ensure that the new legislation does not change or limit the existing powers and restrictions in place.

Before completing the survey, people might find it useful to look at the current list of dog control areas in the Chester area: Dog control areas. The outcome of the public consultation will be considered by Cabinet in Autumn 2017.
