Community Engagement – Self Care Training

Everyone knows how a short walk in the garden in springtime sunshine can improve your mood – but have you heard about ‘Self Care’?

The idea around this health and wellbeing initiative is giving people simple and easy hints and tips (like joining a local walking group) that they can then use to help improve their quality of life.  It’s definitely not about joining a gym or taking up physical exercise!  NHS South Cheshire Clinical Commissioning Group, supported by Connected Communities, is planning a free one-hour training workshop for parish councillors interested in finding out more about the benefits of Self-Care.    Parishes can develop self-care champions who can use their community links to help to spread the word about self-care amongst friends and neighbours and explore the facilities and opportunities they have locally within their parish to develop activities.  For full details click here
