Kingsmead Christmas Light Switch on event – Friday 6th December from 4.30pm
Kingsmead Parish Council is pleased to announce details of the annual Christmas lights switch on event which will be taking place at Kingsmead Square, Regency Way, on Friday 6th December from 4.30pm to 7pm.
The Kingsmead Clocktower will be decorated with garlands to greet visitors to Kingsmead and the tree situated in the square will be decorated for the event. Motif lighting will be hung on the roundabout and temporary lights will decorate the area around Busy Bees to add to the festive feel.
The popular Hollywood Selfie Mirror will be available for visitors to have fun dressing up and taking pictures. A grotto will be provided for younger children to visit Santa and receive a gift. These activities are provided free of charge to residents, but donations may be made towards the council’s chosen charity, Barnardo’s. The Rotary Club will also be visiting with their sleigh for the switch on at 6pm.
New for this year is a licensed bar by Mack’s Music and warm drinks provided by Tatton Perk with a dessert stall by Pretty Princess Pancakes. Sweet Treats will also provide a sweet stall. The event set up is supported this year by Buddha Group.
Kingsmead Primary School pupils will provide musical performances alongside other local musicians throughout the event.
Parking will be restricted at Kingsmead Square to allow space for the event with alternative parent and child and disabled parking being reserved in another section of the car park. Residents visiting the event are encouraged not to drive where possible due to the limited parking available at Kingsmead Square.
