Budget and precept information 2020-2021
Kingsmead Parish Council has now set the budget for 2020-2021 and submitted the precept request to Cheshire West and Chester Council.
The precept has been set at £200,550 which results in a Band D charge of £104, 69, an increase of £7.22 (7.4%) from last year.
The precept covers day to day costs for the parish council which include maintenance of nine play areas, woodlands and open spaces.
Following the transfer of the amenity areas from the Kingsmead Landscape Management Company in 2011, Kingsmead Parish Council was also given the right to charge residents fixed and variable rent charges. There was no need for the council to charge residents directly for the maintenance of the amenity areas as the costs of managing these areas could be requested through the precept.
This year the council has included a new budget for the full removal of historic rent charges, as residents have faced challenges when selling properties due to being unable to evidence payments. It is intended that the work on the removal will commence at the start of the new financial year.
