Proposed Reduction in PCSO Numbers Across Cheshire – December 2025

Cheshire Constabulary has proposed a major re-organisation of its PCSO services, reducing numbers from 87 to 27 across the county.

PCSO’s play a vital role in our community and the Parish Council is concerned about the impact this change will have in Kingsmead on:

  • Neighbourhood policing
  • Visibility
  • Community engagement

We have already written to the Chief Constable of Cheshire Police about our concerns (KPC Letter re Proposed Re-organisation of PCSOs), as well as the Police and Crime Commissioner and our local MP. We are asking you to support our efforts in ensuring continued PCSO support in our area and have provided a list of questions you might want to ask (PCSO Changes – Ask the Chief Constable).

MINI-POLICE PROGRAMME

Our PCSO, Lee Robertson, has been invited to submit a proposal to continue the Mini-Police scheme, which has been an outstanding success here in Kingsmead.

We strongly support this initiative, which:

  • Engages positively with young people
  • Promotes community safety and local policing
  • Builds respect, confidence and good citizenship
